As we go forward into 2018, it has become increasingly clear that the United States government will never seriously address global warming without pressure from the voting public. To that end, New Mexico Climate Action will additionally include political actions that will help move us toward effective, timely actions to address the consequences and impacts of global warming.

4th Annual National Climate Assessment Report Released

The National Climate Assessment summarizes the impacts of climate change on the United States, now and in the future. A team of more than 300 experts guided by a 60-member Federal Advisory Committee produced the report, which was extensively reviewed by the public and experts, including federal agencies and a panel of the National Academy of Sciences.

This site is dedicated to keeping you informed as to how you can participate in advocating for climate action, on a local level. We all must come together in our individual and varied efforts, in order to push institutions to address global warming….whether it’s writing or calling a politician or government agency or attending a rally, protest, or fundraiser. We must come together, to increase our numbers in order to create greater impact. Whether you are involved with environmental groups fighting for the survival of a species, working to ensure clean water and air for New Mexico, or for moving our State towards clean energy, all of these efforts share a common thread… the need for a sustainable climate. So, let’s work together and support each other. Please find activities on the Events Calendar where you can participate and take additional action, to help reach the goal of a sustainable planet for all of us.

To be added to the bi-monthly New Mexico Climate Action Email List, send an email to Heather Karlson:  sma99988 (at) gmail.com. This email will provide information on climate change action, related websites and activities.
