| Dear Lynne,
We’re stepping up to confront the Greater Chaco region from a wave of destructive and illegal fracking, but we need your help to save this sacred landscape and secure justice.
Lend your support for this beleaguered sacred region and help us turn back the drilling rigs and the oil and gas industry’s greed.
This is urgent. The Bureau of Land Management is planning this March to auction off 4,400 more acres of public lands near Chaco Canyon for fracking. 91% of this region is already sold off for fracking. Enough is enough!
The Greater Chaco region is the cultural heart of the American Southwest. Ancestral Puebloans thrived here more than a thousand years ago and their ruins still stand. The area remains sacred to present-day Pueblo and Navajo people who call this region home.
In spite of calls for a moratorium on fracking from Indigenous leaders, including the All Pueblo Council of Governors and the President and Vice President of the Navajo Nation, the oil and gas industry is steamrolling the sacred fabric of this landscape.
Sign the petition today and become part of the movement to transition Greater Chaco away from fossil fuels. |
