They must be feeling the pressure, because the Bureau of Land Management is playing dirty tricks on the behalf of the oil and gas industry.
You won’t believe this, but the Bureau of Land Management secretly changed the location of their July 20 oil and gas lease sale from Santa Fe to Roswell. For two weeks, the only public notice appeared as an obscure link on the BLM website while the agency simultaneouslymailed letters to notify former oil and gas bidders!
This is outrageous. Today, please call Bureau of Land Management State Director, Amy Lueders, at (505) 954-2222. Tell her she doesn’t get to favor frackers over the public—protect public interest and cancel the auction in Roswell!
Last week, we asked you to join us in Santa Fe to protest the Bureau of Land Management’s plans to auction off nearly 14,000 acres of our public lands for fracking.
Because it’s simple. We can’t possibly protect our climate and our future if all we’re going to do is open the door for the oil and gas industry to frack our public lands.
I need a phone call from you today to show we won’t be ignored as long as our climate is in danger! Call Amy Lueders today at (505) 954-2222.
The good news is, the pressure that you, Guardians, and our allies have been bringing in New Mexico is working. Last April, 200 of you showed up to protest the last oil and gas lease sale in Santa Fe. Now they’re trying to shut us up with a bait-and-switch.
We need to flood the State Director’s Office and tell her this is wrong! BLM is already playing dirty by ignoring climate change impacts, but they just took their dirty dealing to another level! Call (505) 954-2222 and call for an end to New Mexico oil and gas leasing.
If the Bureau of Land Management continues with this last minute location change to Roswell, we must be heard both there and in Santa Fe. Join us if you can!
On July 20 at 12 noon, please come protest with us at the BLM state office: 301 Dinosaur Trail, Santa Fe.
Or on July 20 at 8 am, protest at the Roswell Convention and Civic Center: 912 N. Main Street, Roswell.
Enough is enough! Please help amplify this critical message.
