“The next big fight for the U.S. climate movement is here and we need your help to scale it up, fast.

The people-powered movement to Keep it in the Ground — to end the leasing of America’s public lands to dirty energy companies for fossil fuel extraction — is already making major waves throughout the halls of power.

Will you watch and share this new video on Facebook that explains this exciting new campaign in just 3 minutes?

(Or if you prefer, watch the video on YouTube!)

Just last month, President Obama issued a moratorium on new leases for coal mining on federal lands, which is a major milestone.

But the more successes we achieve, the harder Big Oil and its powerful allies are pushing back. Right now, it’s critical that we double down and build our power to keep this momentum going — and that means bringing more people into the fight.

This campaign has grown so fast that most of us still have friends and family who don’t know the outrageous details: how our collective natural resources are auctioned off for pennies on the dollar to some of the wealthiest corporations in the world, and how this leaves us and future generations to clean up the climate pollution and degraded landscapes after these companies take the profits and run.

There is wind in the sails of this quickly growing movement, but if we are to achieve the major climate victory we seek before Obama leaves office in just 11 months, we need to spread the word and inspire everyone we know to get involved. Please watch and share this powerful new video!

For all our great granddaughters!”

P.S. Almost half a million people have already called on President Obama to stop fossil fuel leasing on public lands. Now, if we can get 100,000 more signatures in the next 30 days, the White House will have to respond. Add your voice!
